Hamburger Rock Picnic and Camping Area

Directions: 14 Miles north of Monticello, or 40 miles south of Moab, turn onto Hwy 211 to Canyonlands National Park. You will pass Newspaper Rock and the Lavender/Davis Canyon turnoffs. (Approx. 24 miles from Hwy 191 junction). Turn at the sign above and travel about 1 mile on a sandy, but well maintained road. You will see Hamburger Rock on your right. If you travel approx. 2 more miles you will cross Indian Creek and reach “The Falls.”

This is the same turnoff if you are going to the Falls Missile ATV or the Lockhart Basin ATV trails.

Indian Creek is known by climbers for it's crack climbing so you may see climbers in the area.

The Falls are fun to visit any time of year. The water in Indian Creek flows year round (unless there have been drought conditions). In the spring the run off is a bit stronger. The water is the color of the red cliffs surrounding Canyonlands. The upper falls are shallow for small children, and the lower falls are better for jumping and swimming. DO NOT dive off the ledges above the lower pool!!
