HOLE ‘N THE ROCK
Visit Hole N" The Rock which features a home carved just south of Moab. The home is 5,000 square foot. Visit the gift shop, trading post, or petting zoo. They offer guided tours of the home. They also feature a collection of metal sculptures. The souvenirs and designs are quirky and fun. This is a good place to stop if you're on you're way south to visit the Canyonlands Needles district or heading North to Moab to visit some of the other national Parks.
The petting zoo has bison, zebras, camels and many other smaller animals and the trading post features locally made jewelry and Native American Pottery. The Hole n' The Rock is right next to rest stop that is a good place to have a picnic and let the kids wander around the small canyon it sits in.
The Hole N' The Rock is close enough to Moab to make a quick trip and head back to Moab to grab dinner or lunch. It keeps reduced hours in the winter but is open normal business hours during the busy season. It closes when it's gate closes. Make a pit stop here and then continue on with your exploration of Moab or San Juan County areas.
